About Us

Katya Gardiner
Daytime Postpartum Doula, Night-time Postpartum Doula, Birth Doula/Birth Back Up
I have always been curious and fascinated by birth and the birthing body.
I became super engrossed in the birth world when a friend introduced me to Evidence Based Birth and the Birth Hour podcasts. I fell in love with learning about birth and hearing birth stories, and enjoyed it much more than my previous job at the time.
In 2024 I transitioned out of teaching and began Cornerstone's Labour, Birth and Postpartum doula training.
After I completed the training, my husband and I moved from California to North Vancouver where I currently live. I then began my work as postpartum doula and look forward to getting more into birthwork in the coming year.
I am also currently expecting my first baby due July, 2025! I'm so honoured to do this work, helping families along this journey and aligning it with my personal journey of becoming a mother.
My approach to birth and postpartum work is compassionate, nourishing, trauma-informed, evidence-based, and culturally responsive, and I strive to centre community and advocacy with everything I do.
